Morning.

Difficult to find unless it repeats itself constantly. But it sounds like an electrical issue. If you only lost the engine as opposed to all electrics, it could be a dodgy contact on the ignition fuse, the ignitor, clutch switch, sidestand switch, & so on.

Cheers.

Pointy electrics, you have fun with that!

I'd have a check for obviously chaffed wires and such.

When it cut out did you lose rev counter and instruments and such?

I had the same thing, turned out I hadn't connected my the ignition wires to my alarm properly so it kept conking out!

I had this on my curvy, turned out that increasing the idle speed to the higher of the recommended range cured it. Maybe worth a look?

hi all

thanks for replying,

i went out yesterday on teh bike, it never cut out once....

it is a very iontermitten problem, it only really happens when blipping the throttle hard, i stress it doesnt alwasy cut out, it has only cut out at speed once, occasionally it cuts out when filtering or slow moving, but that could be me stalling. when it cuts out i think i stil have lights etc i must take note next time!

its not cutting out all teh time, someone on another forum has mentioned a connection box of some sort under teh tank, they are known to go on SV's maybe its that on its way out? any ideas on that one?

These are the exact symptoms I had, only happened when blipping the throttle etc and wouldn't happen for a few weeks sometimes then cut out. I maybe completely wrong (I usually am ) but I would up your idle speed and see what happens.

Just a ECU glitch, computed somthing incorrectly from the incomming params and the bike cut out.
