Hi all,
Firstly, would just like to say what a great place this is. I've owned a 2000 curvy (my first big bike) since January, and have been reading and learning about my bike by reading hundreds of posts on here. You certainly do know your stuff ! My bikes mileage has just gone over the 7500 mile barrier and so its now time for a service. I was going to get it done by a dealer, but after being quoted approx 250 quid, and looking in my Haynes to see what was required, I think I can do most of it myself. So I started to do some more reading on here to find out what was involved, and whilst explanations of how to do most tasks have been discussed, the one thing I can't seem to find is a definitive list of things I will need in order to carry out the service. So. Could I please have your input into creating a shopping lists of things required for the service, I'll start the list off and hopefully the rest of you will contribute. Haynes manual Paddock stand Oil 10W/40 3.2 litres (recommended makes please) 2 x Spark plugs (not sure of type) Tools (please specify which tools are required) Grease (as above, specify type) Lubricant for chain and cables (as above, specify type) Many thanks Lee |

Haynes manual

Not worth changing the oil without the filter IMO. Buy a good quality one or OEM. Under a tenner. Only need 2.4 litres of oil. Motul 5100 Semi synthetic Plugs NGK CR8E Torque Wrench. Socket set. |

Another 400 or so miles on the bike.
If you look the "stepping" (from the 4k service) 3500 miles 4000 miles 3500 miles 4000 miles This is due to Km to Mile conversion. Just do them ar the 4k mile mark Saves you a service every 16th one ![]()
