Default *sigh* another CHEC thread

If anyone tells you bikes don't have a soul, they're lying.

I've spent the last week or so putting all the standard parts back on the bike, because I've done a deal on a new one (for which there will be another thread later). Now all it does is show CHEC on the dash, and the injectors aren't priming. I've prodded and poked at the usual suspects (clutch switch, sidestand switch) and checked the fuses, but it doesn't want to play.

is it in neutral? then you can ignore the sidestand switch. A bit more fiddling then it might be worth putting a wire across to put it in dealer mode to get more info (see TPS threads)

hmm... found that copy of the service book that was floating about on here ages ago, and that suggests the tip-over sensor would light the FI in the display.

Got a bit of wire to bridge the connector, and it doesn't seem to have changed anything - still just CHEC rather than a Cxx number showing up. Got a tame electrician coming around soon though, so I'll hopefully have an update when he gets here.

I don't remember anything about the tip over sensor showing on the LCD specifically. Though I think you turn the ignition on/off a few times to reset the sensor - if that's what's causing your problems.

As for it now showing the error codes, these should be where the temp gauge is normally. If you can't see C00 (or some other number) instead of a temperature (or blank), then you've probably connected the wrong two pins together in the connector.

Nope, it appears they've moved it, just been looking for it & can't see it.
