Default Just Seen A Twister (I Think)

On a ride out going towards Rufford to day and spotted this in the sky over Southport

Is it a twister or not. Did anyone else see it. It was around 14:15

Send it to the Met office and see what they say. It certainly looks like the beginnings of one though!

I had just taken of from RAF Woodvale and looked inland and thought what the bloody hell is that!!??.. better land sharpish!

I wish I'd had my camera with me because as far as I know I was the only aircraft in the area and it looked bloody impressive from the air!!

excellent catch Andy...

I've never seen a tornado, although I think I saw ball lightning once, no piccies though. For shame.

Oh yes!

Send your pictures and words into the Beeb for free.

Do their job for them!

There's something about this whole 'send in your pictures' or 'were you there?' thing that really bothers me.

EDIT- btw, fantastic photo Andy. I'd be over the moon if I had taken a picture like that. You don't get much exciting around Surbiton these days. Even the sirens are a hum-drum regularity! Even thunderstorms are becoming a rare occurence in these parts!

Why does that bother you?
Very strange.
Are they supposed to have reporters with cameras stationed every 100 meters throughout the UK? Obviously not.
Are the supposed to keep it secret that there was a tornado in Lancs. because they have no image of it? No.

So they instead, they share the image, inform the public and say that Andy from Lancs caught this rather amazing picture of a twister forming. I can't think of anything more reasonable.
