Hi, I'm new to everything...I've had an SV650s K3 for a whole 3 weeks now (after 9 years in the car driving wilderness), and I'm new to this site (but have found it brilliant for general questions) and I was wondering if I could get some assistance.
I ordered a genuine suzuki rear hugger but when I went to fit it discovered that the hole on the right (brake cable side) was in the wrong place. I went back to the shop who swore up & down it was the correct hugger and I've lost 20% of the price returning it. How can I tell if the swing arm has been changed either for a none k3 or a none suzuki one? Thanks |

I dont think anyone would spend alot of effort changing a swingarm unless it was either very damaged, or they wanted to fit a wider rear wheel or do a single-sided swingarm conversion.
K3 SV's are a litte differant in some places in comparison to the K4 onwards, although I'm not sure that tey would be so differant as to require a differant hugger. How wrongly located was the hole in the hugger? BTW welcome to the site ![]() |

Got a photo??
On the break side, there should be a peice of metal with a loop that holds the break hose in place(just by the front of the tyre generaly) , just make sure that it wont fit there as that is the standard place. Should be one bolt. |

I think it was about an inch out. If I had wanted to do a botch job I would of had to drill a hole approx where it started curving.

An inch is quite a bit. Are the brake hoses standard hoses (rubber) or aftermarket (possibly steel braided)?

It's rare to swap swingarms, it can be done but it's fairly obvious.
Almost certainly you have the wrong hugger for your model of bike.

I am stummped.
If you could get a photo it would help greatly. Did it not come with a mounting bracket? [Edit] YC is probly right, more than likely the wrong model they have given you. |

This is the swingarm of an 05 Sv. i presume it's the same as an 03 apart from it being black coated. Does this resemble your swingarm Beanie? And are you sure it's a K3 and not a late registered Curvy?
