I tried some Oxford first time panniers on my motorcycle today, to find if i mounted them forward off the indicators, there wasnt enough space for a pillion.
Mounting them over the indicators seemed the only viable option. Does anyone have experience in this area? Is it legal for the indicators to be covered partially by panniers? Any help and pics appreciated! |

just a wild guess but imo it would be illegal to even patially cover the indicators lights etc.

That's odd, I've got the same panniers and they fit my sv fine, mines the naked version though.

Does the standard original curvy have the snow shovel? Or do you have a tail tidy? Most curvy's are of an age now when most have been modified with a tail tidy.

The answer to my question is no, look at the indicators in relation to the pillion seat, soft panniers fit a pointy better

Looks like it would depend on whether or not you've got an aftermarket undertray and all the associated gubbins that go with it. My panniers almost completely obscure the indicators, but they sit much closer in towards the centre of the bike compared to the standard positioning.
I try to use hand signals wherever possible but it's a bit risky when you see how many car drivers completely misinterpret what they mean ![]() |

I moved my indicators back a little bit. This brings them inward as well.
Reason being, the panniers were preventing MYC from getting her toes on the pegs, which was in turn preventing me from getting my toes on the pegs. Causing great inconvenience and wear on the toes of your boots when trying to get a hoon on.

Mine fit fine but to put the missus on the back I had to make brackets and set them back about 8" so she could get her feet on the pegs
