Default What Pressure should my Fuel Tank be at?

I know its 36/42 for my front/rear tyres, but what should I be running the tank on my Z750 at ?

Last night when I pulled up at home I noticed what I first thought was a whining noise coming from somewhere in front of me.

I got off and after removing my lid set about trying to find out where it was coming from.

Worked out it was coming from the tank, and sure enough, when I opened the filler cap, there was a definate sound of depressurisation.

Happened again this morning on the way to work.

Not noticed it before, and I am pretty sure it isnt THAT big an issue, but would like to know why its doing this and if there is an easy fix.

It's normal. Bikes, cars, all do it under the right circumstances. Just make sure the tank vent isn't blocked.

The cap on the thou does the same. I've heard other zed owners mention it. Must be a quirk of that design...along with the ingress of water to the lock that causes a bit of corrosion and leads to tricky situations at petrol situations. I now use silicon spray regularly!

Kawasakis in general do it all the time.
Mine makes squeaking noises and me mates 250 sort of sings, all the time. Just pressure venting. No dramas.

Very common in warm weather - nothing to be concerned about.

Fuel vapour expands when warm, the tank has a vent to allow air in to replace the fuel going out, (if it didn't a partial vacuum would form and fuel flow would suffer), the vent is small so that fuel won't slosh out of it, thus when pressure forces it's way through it is common for there to be a whistle, I like to think of it as a singing noise meaning my bike is happy in the sunshine.

You can vent the pressure by opening the cap - and you'll often hear a hiss.
