Default Tech Q: Embedding flv into a web page with extras.....

Background: My boss saw an ad in the http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/ (the MASH TV: SWEDEN one).

He saw this yesterday then promptly promised a pretty big foreign bank, "Oh Kinvig can do that for you".

I need to embed an .flv file into a page that allows the user to click the movie and then get transferred to that banks web site.

The Daily Mash up seems, I think, to be using a bespoke flash player (http://videos.video-loader.com/_player/gvideoplayer.swf)

First port of call, I tried to be sneaky and copy the relevent parts of the page source, but this didn't work.

Using a bit of code swiped from elsewhere I can get my movie displaying on screen. But I have no idea how I would then get it to link to another web page.

This is driving me nuts. My boss knows I'm off on holiday on Friday for a week & the ad needs to go live next week.

I'm using asp classic (not my fault) and do *not* want an answer that involves javascript as I want this to be accessible!

Ideally, the answer will not invlove altering the flv file but altering flashvars settings - so the code can be reused!

So, any one technical got any ideas?

D.

Wrap the flv player in a html link, ie, <a...>.
Bish bash bosh, job jobbed.
Ugly hack? Yea. But it lets you get on with your holiday.
If you want a more elegant solution, drop me a pm & i should be able to dig up some code.
One of my projects converts various input files to flv for streaming. That's in javascript, but should be easy to change to suit your purpose.

Oh ,yeah - I forgot to mention why I couldn't do that - we need to offer the usual start, stop, increase/decrease volume controls.

JW Player (http://developer.longtailvideo.com/trac) came to my aid. I've still got about 4 days of work that needs doing before my holiday...*sigh*!
