Default malfunctioning clock?

sorry for the story

I crashed my K3 a while back writing off the clock set i had and managed to replace it with a K4 clock off ebay, the fuel light is always flashing and it's only recording half the speed and miles so 15mph is 30mph, of course... not thinking that half the speed is half the miles this left me taking the bike for a walk to the petrol station with a not very impressed girlfriend along side me....

anyway, could the k4 clock not be compatible with the bike or could it be something from my original crash? i was lead to believe all the digital clocks were the same?

Also the dial stopped working a few weeks ago, all apart from the indicator and beam lights. i checked the fuse today and the SIGNAL (10amp) fuse is blown I'm assuming this could have caused the clock to die but then why are some of its functions working???

any ideas on a fix to either of the problems?

Thanks

Got the right number of magnets in the speedo sender ?
There ARE differences.

K3 fuel lights were different to later ones, so it's possible there's an issue there.

I would say that you may have an issue with the speedo sensor. Use a service like http://fiche.ronayers.com/

To see if the part numbers for the K3 and K4 are the same for speedo sensor, clocks, and fuel sensor.

Try ' Searching ' Speedo Sender.
This produced the attached:
Wrong one fitted. A SV650 K3/4/5 speedo rotor works with four pulses per revolution, while the K6/7/8/9 works with eight.

You need to match the sender on the front wheel to the same spec clocks.

& there are loads of others to while away the evening.
