why, it must smooth out the on/off throttle and a bit more power

No benefit for the road, alows a quick shifter for race use and I believe fueling can be set up better than using stock ecu.

Second above. I've got one on mine simply to run the quickshifter and it does mean you can DIY the fueling a bit, but most have just had the stock ECU rewritten by a decent tuner.
