What to wear?

Not a review as such just need some reassurance.

On my DT i would go out riding in my leather trousers and my Alpinestars textile jacket*, the jacket having just arm and shoulder pads.

However now that i'm on a much more powerful bike i've started to wear my armour jacket* that I bought for motorcross with a waterproof jacket over the top.

So for nipping into town and short rides i wear the textile jacket and longer, faster rides i wear the Armour and Waterproof.

Is this a good call or should i stick to the motorcycle textile jacket all the time, despite it having less protection?

If you think about what they both protect you from, and whether you could meet the same circumstances whatever bike you ride and for whatever distance you ride it it sort of answers the question for you.

But equally if you prefer shorts and flip flops, thats your choice.

There is a lot of conditioning (brainwashing) gone on down the years. In the 70's I wore jeans, trainers, leather jacket, gloves and helmet. Now its Draggin jeans, boots, jacket etc. And I feel uncomfortable if I nip to the shops in ordinary jeans and trainers.

As has been said, its personal choice. Personally I wear textiles with armour whenever I ride, that's trousers, jacket boots helmet and gloves. Whether its 5 mins or 5 hours riding I prefer to have some degree of protection.
