Default HG Boost Sheltex Suit

Right, well after the 1st day of my new commute it is VERY obvious that my leathers are not going to cut it, mostly waterproof is not good enough for 1 hour+ each way.

So, as I am having to look at the budget end of things, does anyone have any experience of the HG Boost Sheltex Suit.

I would be planning on taking the armour out and wearing my forcefield armoured shirt and trousers as an under-layer.

So with that in mind, all I really want is something to keep me dry and not let too much of the wind chill through.

So anyone rate them?

From the pictures, that appears to have the same external construction as the Journey jacket and trousers (which I have, and highly recommend) but obviously with a Sheltex membrane rather than Gore-Tex.

You may find you get a little warmer in the hot weather than you would with the Gore-Tex stuff, but it'll be waterproof and it's well-made, comfortable kit.

I've had the pants 18 months and still wear them regularly, completely waterproof to this day and never been reproofed although I have the stuff sitting here to do it!

They do get a bit toasty when the weathers warm... but are good on colder days though I usually have a base layer on, with trousers on underneath you shouldn't feel any wind chill whatsoever.

For the price I can't complain at all, not even the zip's are loose or fallen off (unlike most of HG's range, their zips I find are usually the weak part).

I know the original post is a couple of months old, only just seen it. Did you get these in the end or something else - if anything?
