Default My Front end conversion

As people on here will know I have just not been able to get on with the SV front forks from new. I went the route of hagon progressive springs and oil, which were better, but as my riding speeded up they became inadequate.

I scoured this site and eventually found a specialist called Gareth at Reactive Suspension, and what is better he is based in York.

Anyway after a few mails I dropped my stock forks off with him, and he fitted cartridge emulators, and new springs and oil for my weight. He also agreed to set my bike up for me in with the cost.

Anyhow I collected the forks back from reactive suspension, and fitted them to the bike. I noticed an instant improvement, but there was still a knocking sound when I went over the bumps.

I took the bike back to Gareth at Reactive and he took one look and immediately knew something was wrong. After a quick spin on the bike he diagnosed the head stock bearings were loose, and the Yoke nut was loose. After he corrected this he took the bike back out and came back with a big smile on his face and asked me to try it now.

Well all I can say is WOW. The forks are amazing and the bike feels like something new.

The service I recieved from Gareth has been brilliant and I have no problem, recommending him to anyone on here, for quality, friendliness and value for money.

My bike now feels how it should - PERFECT.

I paid £390 which was for everything including the bike set up and everything matched for my weight and riding. Also he sorted out my loose head bearings. Turnaround was a week from dropping off the forks to him setting up the bike.

Yes including springs for your weight, new oil, cartridge emulators, rebuilt, and the bike set up.

If danf keeps his bike a few years then I would say it was money well spent. I had Maxton cartridge conversions done about 6 years ago and it transformed the bike so much that I am happy to stick with it.

Sadly my bike spends most of it's time filtering through traffic and driving down motorways, so new suspension probably wouldn't benefit me all that much! When my placement year is over though the bike shall be my play toy again

You say that, but its £100 for progressive springs and oil, and that's if you fit them yourself.

For what you get in return the price is good.
