That really oooold feeling

I've never had it before, but 1st May 2011 is the day my eldest daughter has her 30th birthday.... and boy do I feel it.

I'm 40 today and feeling very ooooold

Worry about it when you start celebrating your kids 40th birthdays and you get free bus travel.People disregard you because you are old and forgetful which is a selective state You go upstairs for something then stand at the top of the stairs wondering why you went up there.You end up asking your grandkids to show you how something works.Reading fairy tales becomes another part of life as does watching childrens TV and being a pirate,all part of your promotion in to old age and becoming head child minder.
You imagine retirement to be a quiet period with time to do the things you want to do which is some what disrupted by not killing your kids at birth and they have multiplied 2x3=6 grandkids, giving you more chaos in your life.

Dickie, I'm half way there already. I have the first grandchild on its way, I have zero memory and spend a fair bit of my time babysitting and childminding my housemate's kids and others. On the plus side, even when Caz does hit 40 I'll still only be 59, so won't quite qualify for a bus pass.

Only a year short mate,you get it at 60

Age does not mean much really these days. When I was 30, my boy friend was 60 and he was very fit and healthy. although I do think that I was looking for a father figure!

Also worth noting my dad is only just older than you, but acts and looks much older. The moral here is this, stay young in mind and the body follows. Keep riding bikes and being silly and you wont have much to worry about.
