Default Gear indicators

Noticed that some of you guys have these fitted. Ive also noticed that a acumen loom kit is £100.00! - there are other diy kits on ebay eg.

How easy would it be to diy one rather than be properly ripped off just coz you get a loom kit with the acumen one?

I mocked one up that would have cost about £20. difficulty would have been getting the connectors to allow it to plug inline so no wiring mods needed.

There is a feed to the ECU that tells it which gear you are in based on a certain voltage per gear.

This was for a pointy.

Gear indicator=speedo & rev counter-----why would you need anything else if you are a competent rider?

Cos it iz well bling, innit.

For me it was a project to learn some more Electronics skills, hence the fact one isn't made/on my bike.

Not to say I won't make it in the future if I can source the plugs

3 years off the road and keeping the revs low has made me think about it. Plus im a lazy b and a bit rubbish at remembering what gear im in until i twist the throttle. Considering how cheap you could get one of these set up i thought it was worth looking into it and seeing how acumen are in effect charging you £80 for a small wiring loom i grudge paying to be ripped off.
