Default Beardy blokes, what do you do with yours?

Alright, let me preface this by saying I'm bored and the week is dragging but I would actually like a decent answer if possible.

As pointed out by YC, my relationship with grooming tools is best described as tenuous at best. Razors, I have a restraining order out on and my relationship with my trimmer is that of passing acquaintance. (And I'm happy with that BTW, although apathy and happy are perhaps interchangeable words in that phrase)

It has got to such a length now that when in my summer gear, the wind causes it to thwap back and forth leaving me looking like I've been mildly thrashed about the neck with a Holly bush.

I've taken to using an oxford comfy to lash it to the rest of my head which does work but isn't the most comfortable solution I could have imagined (wonder if I've got a case with trading standards the the comfy product isn't!). Given that I don't want to lop it off, do any other beard bearing orgers have any other suggestions to try or am I cursed with thrash rash when I forget my comfy?

Plenty of styling products to keep it tame?

Tried plaiting it to stop it whacking me in the face didnt work so just use a neck tube thing and pull it up over my face. My Lids got a daft wind skirt thingy on it and it kept grabbing my beard and yanking on it ouch! I have resorted to triming a bit off now though

Trim it right back

Depending on how long it is, try scrunching it and tucking it in a neck tube

I don't do anything with mine (when it's on). It can serve as a useful speed reminder as in when it starts hurting I need to get back to reality.

I'm not allowed to grow a beard... As I'm rather partial to Lady Poppy's cooking I have no intention of disobeying either!

Having tried various 'tasch styling gunk when growing that out long for Movember I cannot believe any of them would be any good on a beard at any speed above five miles an hour!

Shame re no beard allowed but a useful review of the products because I'd been considering trying some but they aren't cheap either.

Think I might try a silk balaclava as that sounds soft and comfortable.

Very valid point there though Monkey, not necessarily a bad thing.
