Default Cheap road legal slip-on for 05 Pointy

I'm looking for an MoT worthy silencer for my K5.

Not too worried about looks if the price is right as it'll only be on there for one day every year.

Selling a Beowulf end can for £100? Will happily pass an MOT test with its baffle in.

Mark, why is yours not MOT worthy?

My full race system has the "Not for road use" sanded out and then a black band (high temp paint) painted around the can. It doesn't look out of place and without the "Not for road use" imprinted on the can it passes the MOT with no problems.

Regards

Mine didn't come marked "Not For Road Use" as it was a direct import from the US. I dunno, it might pass but it is f-f-f-fairly loud.

Speaking to a mate yesterday he's found a local tester who will pass his XTZ660 and that's more than fairly loud so I might just go there.

How loud is your pipe on a scale of one to ten? One being mouse fart and ten being cataclysmic.

Thanks,

Mark

"Loud" isn't a test run at an MOT station. "Not for road use" is what they are looking for, without it, they can not prove it isn't for the road. Technically they should be looking for a BS mark or European equivalent or a "For road use" mark but many exhausts don't come with this even if they are approved for road use so in my experience testers don't look for it. Mine was the one that told be to scratch off the "Not for road use"!

I think I'll just go for an early MoT and see how things go then.

MoreMoto have offered to fabricate (bodge?) a baffle in the front of the end can if required. It seems that a baffle in the usual place doesn't work so well on the M4 as the hole is ovalised.
