Dropped the SV in the car park at work today. Went down exhaust side, of course. Two technical-ish queries about the damage.
1. My beautiful Remus end can is slightly damaged. The hoop round the collector-end is pushed a little out of line. When I put my hand down next to it I can feel a little gas escaping (firing out the other way). Is this something I should worry about, and if so can I fix it with a gasket sealant? 2. The rear brake lever and footpeg are a wee bit bent too. I'm going to try and bend'em back, but if that fails, which years will fit an SV650K3? I'm guessing 2003 and 2004. And the cheapo Motrax bobbins do work: the radiator is completely untarnished. On the other hand I probably wouldn't be replacing the brake lever if I had fitted the R&Gs. |

I keep reading about people using silicon sealant to seal exhaust leaks, I'd have thought it wouldn't cope with the heat too well. Can anyone shed light on this? It might be your answer...

I managed to plant my left foot but couldn't stop it going down. To my amazement there wasn't so much of a scratch on the bike apart from a slight bend on the gear change pedal. |
