Default Flat bars on my SVS.

OK, anybody fitted nekked style bars to their 'S' model yet?
Due to my seriously knackered wrists I can't be doing with the clip ons anymore.

I've got another top yoke on the way which I'm going to drill and bolt risers to. Got a low set of LSL ally bars.
Do I need longer throttle and choke cables?
I've got Goodridge hoses fitted on my SVS, looks like I'll need longer ones. Not sure.....

Anyway winter is here so there's work to be done!

I have though that was with slightly shorter forks. I had to re-route the throttle and choke cables, switch gear cables but ended getting the cables of the unfaired as 'being me' it bugged me . So ideally yes but you can get away with using the ones you have.

Just out of interest, what risers are you using? Single bolt, angled or straight ?

Cheers
Ben

To put bars on your SVS you'd either need to drill your upper triple and mount up risers or switch to a nekkid upper triple. Drilling your triple might be a bad idea becuase the metal may not be thick enough to handle risers (the nekkid triple has gussets there). If you swap triples you'll also need to get the ignition out which requires drilling the bolts out unless you have safety torx bits...

Either way you'll probably want to switch throttle, choke and clutch cables. You will have to switch your brake master cylinder hose.

Their would be advantages to switching to bars, their are lots available, lots of risers available and switching risers is easy enough that you could do it almost daily. I had 4" risers with SM type 2 bars on my 2000 for street and switched back to the stock risers for track... My 2002 streetfighter project has been a clip-on convert as I don't plan on riding it too far...

I had the LSL kit fitted to my bike.

Kit came with new yoke, bracket for brake master cylinder, and longer braided hose(s) for brake. Throttle cable routed other side of headstock but fitter suggested this was a tight bend and could wear quickly. Cables from Naked model might be an idea, but obviously not absolutely necessary.
