Default number plates for fender elminator

Hi,

Planning on fitting the hamicad fender eliminator on my K5 (when it arrives)

what is the smallest legal number plate you can put on it?

has anyone got any pictures of theirs and a link to a shop for them?

Cheers!

Indeed they aren't, have a look at their 'show' plates.

Hi

the smallest legal plate is 9" by 7"

order something from their 'show plates' and you don't need to send off any documentation, which is a benefit

mine is currently 7.5" by 5.5" - I'll put up a pic when I get home

cheers

Not strictly true, the rule on numberplates actually relates to the size of letters and spacing. For most 7 character plates a 9" x 7" is generally the minimum. Bit if the plate contained a number of 1s then the plate size could be reduced as the character 1 takes up less space than all the other characters e.g. A111 ABC. I believe all the other characters are the same size.

If you get into the realm of 6 character number plates then 7" x 6.5" would cover most bases. From memory justmacsv650 has a pretty small, but perfectly legal plate because he's got a personalised reg.

So I guess the smallest legal plate would be any two character plate with 1 in it. Something like A1 for example would be a pretty small plate, but cost about 20 times as much as the SV!

And if you bike was registered before Sept 2001 you can have the letters and numbers over 3 lines... Which would make the plate long and thin....
So you could have:
A1
11
AAA

It's probable that you're not going to need the hamicad once you've got an undertray fittef.
The hugger wouldn't be a problem at all.
