Default Gears

Got yet another same old question, as I cant find the posts for this while doing a search for em... Aving a right ******* problem getting into Neutral and out 1st gear. Eaither slips past N on the way down or cant bloody move from 1st, or slips into 2nd when it does finally go...Any answers pls guys,,,starting to **** me off now.

I get the same problem. Pretty sure I saw some other posts around here saying the same thing but I never got around to taking their advice and fixing it.

I do some searches for us.

main culprits seem to be chain and oil. Mines done it pretty much since I bought it from a garage so I'm not really sure why it does it unless the trader was a monkey.


Mines a 2000 SVS if it matters.

still happens to me occasionally - or it gets stuck in neutral and won't select 1st. Normally solved by a quick blip of the throttle.

Ensure clutch adjustment is spot on. If the bike has a significant mileage, there is a possibility that the detent plunger or spring is worn.
