Default Helmet no longer fits??

I bought a Lazer Tornado just over 2 years ago and its still in great condition as i look after it and its never been dropped. However the last 6 months ive noticed that it doesnt seem to fit any more. My lips now touch the chinbar when at speed (i guess the paddings gone) and ive removed the nosepiece on the chinbar as it was scratching my nose when riding. I dont really want to shell out hundreds of pounds every 2 years for a helmet which only sees occasional use (not every day rider) but i dont want to risk safety. It doesnt move left to right much but im just wary of it being too "baggy" now. Can i replace the cheek pads etc?

The padding in helmets wears and compresses over time leaving you with a lid that doesn't fit as snug as it did when you first bought it. Depending upon how much you ride I'd say 2-3 years is about average for helmet life, I certainly expect to replace mine every 24 months.

However the more you pay for a helmet in the first place will, to some degree, decide how long it lasts. The more expensive lids (and some cheaper ones too, like my Caberg V2) have removable padding that can be replaced but don't expect it to work out that cheaply.
