If you go to Infinity on Great Portland Street then give me a shout 'cos I work across the road from there. I can take you for one of your favourite decaf-soya-latte-frappe-choca-ccino drinks at the local coffee emporium.

In case you can't get one from Infinity, I got my Optimate last winter from Daytona M/Cs in Islington, cost about £35

who are no longer in pentonville road. they have moved to where their servicing centre is somewhere in the kings cross one way system. and by all accounts they are mainly now concentrating on bike sales/servicing rather than selling clothes, bits etc.

Thank you one and all for your advice.
I've whizzed out in my lunch hour and got the soldering iron, some solder, an Optimate 3, some Silkolene Pro FST and something else which slips my mind now.

sadly it didnt leave me enough time for food so i'm wondering waht solder tastes like raw at the moment.

Cazzza, wish i'd seen your post before i left... how could i refuse such a kind offer. But i didnt cos i'm a dope. Ifangyoo.

for all you great peeps on this site. Sometimes i dont know what i'd do without you all.

only sometimes tho

Crap. But at least it's probably lead free these days, so it probably won't send you mad anymore. Well, if you've got lots of soldering to do it might, but not from lead poisoning.
