I bought a Pyramid plastics seat cowl a while ago and the paint all bubbled and faded. This was replaced through Skidmarks (I think spelt right?) who I bought it through only to find that the replacement has done exactly the same. I have spoken to someone who does paint spraying and they have said that this is sometimes due to silicon in the air during the spraying.
My problem is that I don't want to get another replacement as I am fed up with it but I would like to get it sprayed properly by someone. The person I would use does not have the correct colour paint and to buy a full litre would be very expensive. Does anyone have any paint for a blue 2002 sv. The bike was registered in Dec. If anyone can help I am willing to buy at a competitive price. |

Have you tried RS Motorcycle paint? Can't remember their website, but just google it.

That's where I got mine from. Really expensive!!
£100 for half a litre. ![]() So I got spray cans. One primer, one colour, one laquer....£60! ![]() That was enough for one panel, and it chips very easily now. ![]() For such a small area, you might be better going for a contrasting colour. Black or silver would look good maybe. Then ask a car bodywork shop nicely if they would use excess paint from another job. |

I have just got some paint from a company called Bike Colours.
They were advertising paint on Ebay so i called them and got what I needed. I havent used the paint yet but they seem knowledgeable. |

Remember that SV blue is a candy- they get the colour with a silver (I think) basecoat and then precise layers of the pigment over the top. So it might not just be the blue you need to get. Also, it's prety tricky to colourmatch, it's not just a case of getting the right paint.
PM Big Al, I reckon, seen his work and it's excellent. I wish I'd got him to do mine now, it'd be finished for one thing ![]()

Thanks for all the advice!
My other half also suggested a contrasting colour so I may go that route. Failing that i may be happy with a close match! ![]() |

I think Banditmania do tins as well, they certainly used to. Contrasting colour could look great, I've been putting mine together bit by bit and I was astounded by how good my half-painted silver cowl looked when I fitted it to my half- painted (one half black, one half another colour) looked. At the same time, it could look rancid
