Hi Rictus and and all,
Been a while. Very busy and then some very crap weather has meant that I only had a look at fitting my MPH adapter the other day. Anyway, took off the top and can see the wiring but it's sitting under the petrol tank. Do I need to take out the petrol tank? or is there some nifty way underneith it? Have to admit I didn't have long so maybe I missed something obvious. Cheers Sean. |

The petrol tank pivots upwards. You do know this, don't you?

I think you're getting confused- the petrol tank is the metal bit on top that has the filler cap. The plastic thing under the tank is the airbox.

Very probably, so do I need to remove the airbox?

It's harder to get back on... but it's a fiddle rather than technically difficult if you know what I mean.

I trust we are talking about a curvey here.
To get it back on lubricate the rubber trumpets that connect the airbox to the carbs with a bit of WD40. Connect the front trumpet first and then the rear. You won't break them. Like Northy says, it's more fiddly than technically demanding. |

It's teh breather hoses that give me fits every time
![]() seandixie, the breather hoses are something that's potentially easy to miss- theseare on the left hand side of the bike, towards the back of the air box. There's a good chance they'll pull loose when you lift the airbox- if you don't reconnect them, it'll open your crankcases to the air, and cause spitting of oil all over the place and possible contamination of the crankcases. Not good...
