Default I don't believe it

You would think people would learn by now.

I was up at Rivington this morning and a guy turns up on a yellow Deytona, both him and his pillions contribution to safety were helmets.

The rider wore combats, light jacket, trainers not even a pair of gloves. similar the pillion.

OK I am used to the scooter muppets being so stupid with their own personal safety and confident in thier own invunerablity, but not so on a full sized bike.

Something at the back of my mind makes me think he must have only just aquired this bike. and where from.

Must say although I wear Textile/Leather gear through Winter/Spring/Autumn, to work & for the odd jaunt ....on the hot days i'll wear just a denim jacket or likewise (and on some days just a shirt)

I know it's not clever but it's just my choice, ........still I would never stoop to shorts/t-shirt

It is your choice indeed. However I think it should be pointed out to you that if you're wearing a denim jacket, you might as well be wearing shorts and tshirt because if you come off there will be very little difference in how much skin you lose.

If I'm riding to my mates or my girlfriends, within a mile and not over 30mph zones, I will wear just a T shirt and jeans if it's hot. Anything more than that and it's full gear.

after years of riding with leathers/textile clothes i can honestly say that even sitting on a bike in the show room with jeans t-shirt feels just slightly strange!

I wore jeans when I first started biking on my CG. Purely because I couldnt afford any better gear. As my salary has increased and Ive been able to Ive bought better gear. But not everyone can.

PS I have denim jeans, and planning to get a jacket that would prove the above wrong.

PPS 22's post above is why I gear up every time - even for 5 minutes and a mile round the corner. You cant legislate for everyone else and Id rather not take the chance that the time I dont is when I meet Mr Blind Car Driver who forces me off the bike.
