Default TGBs at the BMF rally! My dad's bike is nicked :(

Poor dad.

He bought a 15 year old XT600 a couple of months ago to replace his SRX600. Absolutely loved it.

He went up to the BMF rally in Peterborough yesterday and when he woke this morning somebody had stolen his bike. Another girl's trailie was gone too. I'm gutted for him.

By some odd circumstances that I won't bore you with, his bike only had 200 miles on it when he bought it, so on the vague off chance that anyone sees a ridiculously low mileage blue Yamaha XT600 about, please let me know. Better still, call the police there and then. I can't believe there are any other 15 year old XT600s with so few miles on.

Now I have to go and get him tomorrow and I feel guilty about getting a new bike on Wednesday.

You'd think at the BMF they'd have better security?

You'd think so wouldn't you. But despite the main gate being locked and all attendees being required to wear armbands, the 3 unlocked gates on the site made it a nice easy job for the scumbags to wheel out what they wanted.

Dad got caught by the assumption that it was a secure site. Always lock your baby up.

Bikegarageboy, if you see someone there loading a ****ed off looking bloke who looks like him only older, into a telewest van, that'll be me tomorrow!

My mate has had 2 bikes nicked in the recent past. An Vintage BSA and a DR400 both from his shed, both times when he was away for the weekend.

Undeterred, he has bought another off roader and a big dog.

Recently I have noticed a lot of bikes on trailers going towards the former Eastern Bloc as I drive around Europe. I dont know what checks there are at the ports, I never get stopped unless they are looking for cigarettes or alcohol

being a fieldbike its likely never to be seen again
Dad's pretty realistic about this. I must say he's being remarkably philosophical about it. I'd be running round kicking over wheelybins and old ladies, with steam coming out of my ears.

Luckily he hadn't sold the SRX yet.
