Here'e the deal. I was doing a burnout for the first time on my bike because I was getting a new tire, so I figured I might as well have some fun. But now my clutch is slipping very bad. Like a gentle rev on the throttle will cause it to slip. Has something come loose, or have I somehow burned out my plates? I don't want to have to replace the plates if it's not necessary. I have an 05 sv650s with 13k miles on it.

Tried that, and all seems to be in order. Also, excuse the newbie question, but is there transmission fluid in the engine, or just oil? I could maybe try replacing the transmission fluid too if it exists. And if it does, where do I fill it, where do I empty it, and how do I gauge how mush is in there? Thanks

Engine oil does it all in bikes (unless you have a dry clutch).
By all in order you mean it's working now? Or it's adjusted and still slipping? Not put fully synthetic oil in it, have you? Shouldn't slip that badly though even if you had. |

Sorry for not being very clear.... It is adjusted correctly and it is still slipping. I have never used synthetic in the bike, only the local dealer's recommendation (Honda GN4 oil).

I think I'm ready to take the thing apart and look at the plates. I'm assuming there is a gasket that I will need to replace once I take the side of the engine off. Anyone know where I can get this gasket?

Bad news is on the K5 you'll need to drain the coolant and take the right hand engine cover off to check it.
