Jaysus.

I am sure, Kurt Cobain would be... Stoked. And Psyched. At the same time.
Seriously though lads. There is no need for that.

I initially thought the first 'pluckings' were way too high pitched and was thinking AGH!!!... then I found out it was so they could get the chorus violins in...

Must've taken some putting together.

Much better!

My favourite use in metal is the 42-piece philharmonic orchestra in this:

Its extremely powerful and well used I think!

EDIT: Just thought, it might have half a shadowy breast somewhere in it so is not technically U-rated, hope its ok.

Don't need all that.

Just take a listen to 'Now Before the Sacred Ray' from Haydn's Creation. And turn the volume UP.

Stirring stuff

I know that Haydn isn't very "Youtube" orientated, but is there any link for a sample of that, I'd be interested to try it out?

Try the 1812 overture on full volume. Tchaikovski (not so clever with my russian spelling! ) was a metal head!!!

Also ELO did orchestral stuff years ago!

I once saw Cozy Powell drum solo to the 1812 overture. Complete with flamethrowers and explosions.
