Default Clutch release worm gear.

Can anyone explain how this is meant to work?I seem to have broken it as the worm gear slides in and out of the housing but has nothing to purchase on so the worm doesn't turn.I assume there should be protrusions from the thin metal sleeve inside the housing but mine are not there. Is it worn out and do I need a whole new unit?

Sounds like you've lost the little ball bearings from between the two sleeves - they sit in the helical grooves. Sorry can't remember how many or what size.

That would be it.The metal sleeve is a bit loose and there are no ball bearings so i reckon they have fallen out.I noticed the adjuster and locknut were showing too much movement fore and aft rather than in and out before I took it off.Anyone got a spare one?
