Default Doh, expensive lesson (disc lok left on)

Left my disc lock on. Whoops. dropping the gsxr off the rear paddock stand I hear a crunching noise. Scratch head & backside and walk to front of bike.

Doh!.

Managed to plastic weld the leg of the front mudguard back together. Every bit found and stuck back in and it don't look too bad. Found an undamaged one on fleabay and now fitted. 36 hours between damage and replacement, not bad methinks and the financial controller hasn't a clue.

Now for the original damaged one. As I say, it don't look too bad. So I reckon a bit of stopper and a quick flat down and a coat of gloss black and nobody would ever know. Just maybe next time I will use the silly yellow stringy thing to remind me.

Saw a guy knock over a row of about 10 bikes at Helmsley cos he tried to ride off with the disc lock on. He wasn't popular!

At least you only dented your pride.

It always happens when you're trying to look cool - Then you crash and burn.

Mind you I don't think you can look cool on a Yamaha SZR660 which was what I was riding when it last happened to me

I use one of these and never forget. It's obvious enough to deter basic thieves and stops me forgetting about the disc lock. Free with Oxford locks.
