Yoshi Settings

I've managed to find someone with a yoshi box in Newcastle
However - he says he only has the tl and gsxr maps
Anyone know where I could get them from?

To be honest, I'd say you need to get your bike dyno'd, rather than just plugging settings in. I know that people upload maps for Power Commanders to t'internet, but your not going to get the full benefit without getting the dyno runs for your bike.

I didn't think you could just straight plug it in with the SV?

After fitting my race cans, I took it to my local tuning centre, and for £60, plugged it into a computer while on the dyno, and adjusted the fuel/air mixtures accordingly. (Max of +/- 5%) with what he called a 'Yoshi' setup for £60. I could've got it exact, with a different set-up, but that was gonna be a LOT more!

so did he just put a lambda sensor in the exhaust and rev it a few times? Getting it dynoed seems a bit pointless for the SV, I want it running properly rather than looking for power gains (which wouldn't go a miss though ) total £60 isn't too bad though

As I nderstand it, using a Dyno allows the motor to be tested under load. It's not just done so that you can brag about the numbers (which are all subject to random dyno factor anyway) but so you get a propper look at what the engine is doing. This will help the nice man use a Yoshi box to remap your standard ECU, rather than going to the expense of adding a Power Commander.

I also didn't get it for power gains when I took it in... purely to get the air/fuel mixture sorted as it was ****ing fuel out of the exhaust something unreal! I never thought I'd ever see GP style pops, bangs and 3 ft flames come out of a road bike just by putting a race can on it

But the most power is made when the fuelling is right, which makes the bike better to ride in general, The Yosh box is a basic way of adjusting the fuelling to make it better and unless you know what it needs (ie dyno) what are you going to change

A dyno operator, no matter how good, cannot make power where he wants or setup for torque over power, if the fuelling is 100% throughout the rev range at all throttle openings, it will then make the most power/torque everywhere..................
