I'll admit I'm not great at the maintenance side of things.
![]() So I need to check the oil situation out (something I know I should be doing more regularly anyway ![]() Think I'll need my first socket set for xmas! XD HN. |

Get someone to hold it level, most of the lowers have a hole to see the spy glass (on the right side of the engine below the oil filler cap). You may need a torch but you should be able to see it. I don't like lowers because of this....

When I had lowers on my curvey I never needed to take them off to check the oil level, I dont have to when I check the oil on my other halfs K5 SVS with lowers either.
If you kneel down on the brake side of the bike one knee of the ground by the footpeg. Grab hold the front brake lever with your right hand and hold the brake on, then grab hold the footpeg with your left and the pull the bike up towards you off the side stand, do it gently and you'll find it'll come up onto the balance point. Now because your knelt down the site glass will be roughly at eye level and its an easy job to check the level.

I agree.... Also check around the clutch cover, especially its bolts, and the engine cover it mounts to for traces of oil. A lot of people seem to have difficulty in refitting the clutch cover properly for some unknown reason. |
