heya. as for the service mood i think thats the only thing you could do. i just plug a charger straight on the batt so i dont have this problem.
the fuse should be just a normal blade fuse, (one with two blades, plastic body and normally diff colours depending on the current level.) the pin is norm around 4 digits some people scrible them on the books etc. if you have the fob you should be able to change the pin your self. not sure if this works on every model but iv seen it on most. also you can get spare fobs and programe them to your bike. best off goin to datatool. hope this helps ![]() scott |

the pin is rarely set so will be 0,0,0,0 I think (ask jester666) he had to sort his out recently, and it's a good idea to have a spare programed fob just incase your main one stops working, the inline fuse won't be in the fuse box, but attached to the power lead into the allarm system itself, think it's a 15 amp mini blade fuse, you can pickup from Halfords.
Cheers Mark.

The System 3 usual has a blade fuse which is placed inside its in line housing
![]() and kept near to the bikes battery/fuse box (fuse box sits on top of the battery). I recommend getting an optimate or datatool charger as the two of these can have permanent leads connected which you can fit and have running up under the rear seat (more convenient and easier for recharging in the future) ![]() For you now though, charge the battery with the bike in service mode! Ask your fitter for the info on the pin, as mentioned before its most likely still set to 0000 but you should have been told that by someone!!! |

Thanks for your time in the reply - really appreciated! It's a good system - just popping out to the garage ina minute to attach the optimate.

Thank you for the diagrams as well Dangerous Dave - again very helpful. Will pop in to my local halfords to get a pack of spare fuses - I don't relish the thought of not being able to get started.
Will also add this to my 'Euro Touring' List as pretty important! Thanks Guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ![]() |

No problems Matt, glad i could help. Yes its always best to keep a spare fuse for your alarm as sods law is it will leave you stranded in appauling weather in the middle of nowhere! I keep a spare in a small piece of foam in the toolkit.
I have used the optimate leads on every bike I have owned, and a few family and friend's! It is so much easier to pop the rear seat and connect to the lead than it is to take the front off to access the battery. |
