Just wondering if anyone knows the best way of getting a broken zip replaced on some Sidi boots.
The puller broke first then the arch that this goes through went. Zip itself is still fine - I can wear them, its just awkward to have to push the zipper up and down with a pen ![]() Reading on the net it seems that any shop that sells Sidi can send them back to be repaired for free - anyone know if this is the case? David

Any cobbler should be able to make a repair like that.

David, pop into Infinity on Hangar Lane and see if they can help. I have found them to be excellent in the past.

To me, this is my only gripe with practically all of my Sidi boots over the years:
The zipper puller thingies breaking off well before the rest of the boot is even close to being worn out. |

Had considered the one in Clapham, but even though I bought the bike there, never found it particularly friendly. Going to keep using them for a month or so as is as I need to get a new pair of boots and want to go to Excell to see the range available, no shop seems to stock more than the popular boots.

I have exactly the same problem. At home I do/undo the zip by putting a tapestry needle through the hole on the ziphead where the puller should go, and at work I use a staple remover to grip the ziphead. Necessity is the mother of invention

It's a common thing with Sidis. Any decent old fashioned cobbler should be able to sort it, not one of these franchised 'hole in the wall' sole replacement firms though.

A small zip tie looped through would do it in the meantime?

As mentioned above (post with needle-nose pliers in it) I have broken the loop hole thingy too.
Pushing the remains up and down with the ignition key, does however, continue to work ![]()
