yep i use media player because its simpler than the other DVD player my comp has (cant think of the name now)

yeha i do that, but it still does not fill the screen. i know some DVDs have the black boarder on the top, because of wide screen, but mine is wide screen so it shouldnt suffer from this much. but also there is about 3 inchs horizontal on each side of black boarder which is the problem (as well as the borader on the top)

does that make more sence?

Yarp a little, have you fiddled around with your monitor properties?

What system are you running?

some films are extra widescreen* so you will still get the black boarders top and bottom. It will do the same on your TV as well if you have a widescreen TV.

*This is my technical term
