I spent 2 hours yesterday banging my head against a couple of engineers who couldn't decide how to measure a feature on a component I'm looking after
Anybody able to give me some advice Cheers Tris |

Cheers guys
the component is T shaped with the top of the T being curved. The aim of the game is 2 fold
My "beloved" engineers got hung up trying to measure the first curve. They tried to offset by exactly 192.5 but felt that if the radius wasn't 192.5 they would get the wrong answer. This then causes a problem as if the first bit is wrong then the relationship between the 2 curves will be wrong To my simple mind i'm using "coordinates" (hence the name of the machine ![]() I look forward to your advice Cheers Tris PS Sorry I can't post a picture but I'm tied by IPR etc. |

You could PM a picture
![]() What hardware and software are you using? A flatbed with a touch probe? The offset is irrelevant as you say; it's a coordinate so it's relative. |
