Default Working off the cards

So then, black market working (Cash in hand). Does it really exist anymore? I went to a couple of pubs to see if i could get a shift or 2 recently, and both of them now go through the books! A trade that used to be cash in hand.

I have occasionally found a music video or short film that pays cash, but most stuff I do is through the books now. Of course, any extra income is declared straight away...

Cash in hand does still exist, you'll find the majority is stuff like cleaning jobs in peoples homes oh and of course the contruction industries like plastering or plumbing for example

I was just about to say in construction without a doubt.

Nearly all small subcontractors dont employ their staff but have them as self employed. They pay cash in hand as and when they need them and its their responsiblity to sort out the fine details. or not as the case may be.

Yep. There are still cash in hand jobs out there, ask around locally, you'll find some. As others have said, still common practice for plumbers/electricians/builders, etc. doing private work...

Taxi drivers, they declare about 30% of the cash you hand over according to the four or five drivers I know. I don't tip any more for that reason.

Seems about right . Bit harsh not tip though, after regaling you with funny stories all the way home and answering the 'Have you been busy?' question politely........
