There is a mini crime spree going on in my area
![]() ![]() My garage is integral to house and alarmed, i use a disc lock but think its time to install the oxford ground anchor i have had for a year. Its the bike bit that worries me though as the guy never takes it out the garage so how anyone knew it was there is a mystery, hes either done it himself as he cant sell his house so has two mortgages or someone is watching very very carefully ![]() Plus theres a bunch of travelers around the corner who keep coming to ask if you want a conservatory doing or garden fencing, they scammed my girlfriends gran out of £800 for tarmacing her path, they even used broken polo mints for the white bits in the tarmac WTF. GRR rant over lol ![]() |

Your not alone in the mini crime spree area-74 bikes have been stolen form Northamtonshire and surrounding areas in the past 2 months!!! 34 0r 35 have been recovered.....
They are following people home and seeing where they are keeping the bike and then smashing garages etc open and stealing them ![]() |

You joke about the smell, but we only noticed when it rained the other day and they started disolving and you could bloody smell them then ![]() She 89 and although is nearlly all there must have dropped her gaurd. My back door handle has dropped slightly as if it has been forced but its been like that for a while so nothing to do with the recent spate (and it is a george wimpy house so its probably broken all on its own). |

On the subject of travellers, I made a rather stupid comment today. My godmother told me to go and look for a thing she bought my Grandad years a go- a St Christopher thingie. So I ask who's St Christopher? Patron saint of travellers. "What?! Pikeys?!!" Cue laughter and a red face
![]() Definitely install the ground anchor, and if possible can you park your car infront of the garage door? |

our local crime spree was cured when they picked on the local drug barons house. He cured the light finger S.O.B's of their ways when he visited their family home and put all three yobs and their father in hospital.
we did have an earlier one when a visitor to my house had his car stereo nicked and I let it known I was far from happy. two days later the stereo was on my front door step. Sometimes it helps to know someone who knows someone etc.

If you want to rid your area of Pikeys you need what's known as a 'Party in a box', that's what they are called. It's a huge box with just one fuse to light that sets off enough majorly big fireworks inside to keep a display going for about 5 to 10 minutes. When I say big I mean big fireworks, these things are monsters.
Pop down to your local major fireworks supplier and buy one from them, then set it up on its side so the open end is pointing towards their vans, then light the fuse and watch the display. It's worked the twice I've done it. The pikeys have been there for a week or two and becoming a nuisance, you set one of these things off at 3am and the buggers are gone by 9am the next day. |

we had a load of cars broken into the night before last, they were bending the bloody doors open by pulling from the top. one of our neighbours has a great big foot print on his door. phoned the police who "dont come out for car crime now". i presume that will include the local camera scum then?? i have no respect at all for the police anymore. i seriously hope i catch one of these little *******s breaking into my car......

I always take the bike in backwards and do a 20 point turn so its in sideways at the far end with the rear wheel touching the wall and the front nearlly doing so. It would take some real effort to get it out in a rush with the disc lock on aswell, they would probably just end up with it on its side unless there was a group of them to pick it up and put it in a van, at the end of the day though its not a rare ducati so i dont have as much to worry about as the bloke 3 doors down but i will defo be installing the ground anchor. |
