I have an SV650 K6 naked bike and would like to go for a ride and stay out overnight.
Does anyone know what rack and box I will need to get for this bike and how much would I be looking at. Also what tent and other bits would you suggest please. I appreciate all helpful comments. |

A tankbag and a or a tailpack. IMHO you dont need hard luggage a rack of a topbox.
I got two peoples clothes, wash kit, and a tent onto my GSXR for AR06. Take the tent out of its bag and put it into the tailpack, then bungee the poles across the top of the tailpack or alternatively just wrap up the tent in a bin bag and then bungee that to the tailpack. We always take to much stuff, the secret is to only take what you actually need, having done a few trips now we've worked out what we need to take, rather than what we think we need, theres a big difference ![]() The Oxford stuff is pretty good and its reasonably priced to, but its not waterproof, so wrap up your stuff in a bin bag before you put it in the tankbag / tailpack, dont rely on the rain hoods as they are useless IMHO. As for tents, just go into a Milletts any of their stuff will be OK for a weekend away, dont forget you'll need extra space to put your bike kit away unless you want it leaving outside overnight.

Get a flyscreen for the front too, makes long trips far more comfy to do. M+P do one called the Impala that works well on naked SVs.

Thanks for the help.
I like the idea of soft luggage rather than having to fit a rack and top box. Lozzo, the screen looks awful. I've looked all over for something that looks okay but have yet to see anything. I suppose I'll have to stick to ear plugs and a balaclava. |

Lozzo, you're absolutely right.
![]() TBH, I love the bike, it's looks and how it handles (not that I can compare it to much, 1st bike after my Honda XR125). I'd love a nice screen which looked the business and did the business. Just not sure about buying one from a picture on a website. I need to find a shop where I can take a screen off a shelf / rack and place it in position on the bike. If I see something I like I will buy one. I need to look again at this. As for the luggage, it's got to be the soft luggage option. |

You'll need the address of the B&B you've booked into.
Personally I wouldn't bother with a fly screen. But that's just me. I went to the south of Spain and back with a naked SV. I found the packed tank bag did quite an ample job as a wind break. |
