Default Can stubbying questions

Right i'm just about stubby my akrapovic can cos it's absolutely mahoosive and i want to turn the inlet cap round cos it's damaged

Am i going to have a nightmare cutting the titanium sleave?
Do i just use normal pop rivets to put it back together?
How short should i go, the can at the moment is 600mm from inlet to outlet?

Get your stuff here-

I'd chop it to about eight inches

I've used those folks, decent enough.

Titanium shouldn't be too bad, rivets may give you some galvanic reaction, but I'd use stainless and see what happens. Or figure out what the originals are.

Unfortunately i dont think that a fuel can will fit my akrapovic system plus the akra can is massive!!!! That and the fact my akra can cost a whopping ?300!!!!!

If it's not too late I would cut it 2/3 : 1/3 then you have a choice how to build it back up (& could even cut again to get 1/2)

Possibly Ti rivets?

Find a chunk of one and take an angle grinder to it and see what colour sparks you get.

Wont be attacking it till tomorrow, if i go with 2/3 length that takes the total length (from end of inlet to end of oulet) to 460mm compared to the 600mm it is now which looks about right to me

What colour will the sparks be for Ti and SS rivets?

Ti sparks white, SS short sparks and more like tool steel. (depending on alloy, still an easy comparison though)
