Now don't start on me about SV's and top boxes...
![]() Has anyone used the OEM top box available for pointies? The mounting plate replaces the pillion seat, and my brother says it looks like the fixing points for his Givi box (his is a Monokey). I don't suppose that anyone can confirm this? ![]() Short of actually buying a mounting plate and trying his Givi box I don't see a way of finding out unless any of you fine people know. ![]() |

How well do you know the dealers, I expect that most will let you see if it will fit before you buy.

Ask the dealer or email Suzuki GB, they can tell you what Suzuki recommend to be fitted to it. I would say that it is probably a Givi, they are currently using them as OEM on other bikes just rebranded.
Hope this helps, but for more confirmation simply contact Suzuki or your dealer (I have found Suzuki GB very helpful and honest in the past). |

It is a GIVI box. A brilliant idea if you dont carry a pillion as the weight is more central and aerodynamically it is far better.

Ive got the pointy box and plate....and a givi monokey box in the garage.
I'll try it out and see if the givi box fits on it. (which is considerably larger than the suzuki box, like suitcase large) was gonna sell the givi box and givi rack, but if it does fit I might keep the box as a larger alternative and just sell the givi rack. |

Thanks for the responses....
I was going to write to Suzuki GB from work, but the form needs bike details I didn't have with me, so I called but they didn't know, so they transferred me to my local dealer...who also didn't know! Jools - I look forward to hearing your answer. |

I asked Suzuki GB this very question and the response they gave me was :-
"No sir, it's a special Suzuki box to go on the suzuki plate on your suzuki bike" Must admit it looks the same fixing and certainly a lot less unsightly than having a load of scaffolding hanging off the back of your bike. See if you can give it a go. Givi as standard do two sorts of mount which are actually compatible despite looking completely different. Type 1 has a bar at the front of the plate and the lugs on the case both slot under it. Type 2 has two raised square bits on the plate and the lugs on the case go either side of them. Or, if you only want it for the odd trip rather than daily secure(ish) storage then M&P have some Oxford sports paniers for only ?40 (Reduced from about ?150) which is a bargain. Avaialble in blue or silver. they are the 2004 model so do not expand downwards or have the removable bum bag but at ?40 who cares.

Had a gander in the garage and the Givi monorack box does NOT fit on the suzuki rear seat adapter.
Givi front anchor points are wider and the snap lock fitting is totally different. Only way it would sit on there is with lots of gaffer tape and bungees - and I fear some of the practicality would be lost ![]() Was worth a look ![]() |
