I currently live in a part of the city centre. Which is all well and good. Apart from the fact it is slap bang next to a bl**dy council estate. I can't keep my own bike here and I have now just realised the local idiots have perhaps been keep a bike stashed underneath here that I am guessing may have been half inched. Not really sure though. My bike wouldn't last five minutes here.
I only have a couple of months here left but it is flippin' soul destroying! Apologies for the pointlessness of this post but it really gets my goat. ![]() |

That's the thing with the parking. I waited months for a fob for the underground parking here, and after getting it it didn't work. Another fob later and the shutters are permanently up. Given up on it now! Bike is only kept down the road so it could be worse.
I really need to get myself out to some meets. Would be a great experience. I have seen a few SVs darting round here but not sure if any of them are on here. |

Living in or near a council estate doesn't mean you are more likely to get robbed.
There's plenty of scum in privately owned housing. |

I grew up on a council estate and i cant stand all the sh!t that people say. There are bad people, but the majority on the estates are just poor, not hardened crims.
anyway, hope your not on the recieving end of anything. |

I live in a council estate, most are privately owned these days, like mine. My neigbours are the only council house in our block, and TBH they are really salt of the earth folk, yeah so all their family live on our street, with daughters that have far too many kids to count, but even they are really nice people. The other 4 on our block, are owned, one I fell out with because they swore blind I'd scratched their car one night with my bike( which incidently they parked right up to privet hedges, so i wonder where scratches really came from), the other is a stuck up cow, my other neighbours are odd and the others on the end, well, when I fell out with the others widened there path so we could get our bikes down, so I didn't have to talk to the others anymore.
All the council houses dotted amongst the private ones are reasonable quiet folk, its the chavvy kids down the road with the scooters that are a pain, and their mates that cause trouble......oh and they don't even live here, why is it its always those that don't live here that cause the trouble. Its chav central where i am, and i do get worried about what goes on sometimes, especially when they all know where my bikes are.( but theres enough peeps that I know that would seek out said scratty scratter and promptly break their legs) I can't wait to move out of here, because of those who spoil it for those who get on.

I have to agree with bambis comments, i do alot of work for people on council estates and there are alot of nice people who live there always very friendly and welcoming, which is more than can be said for alot of the folks who live in more affluent areas who think they are above everyone else and wouldnt **** on you if you were on fire. Alot of these hoodys nowadays are coming from the privately owned housing estates now.

I work in Liverpool city centre one or two days a week (in the council offices on Dale Street) and I see a lot of bikes chained to the rails in Victoria Street car park. I haven't been able to ride yet cos usually I have too much to carry but it looks safe enough to me. Right? Wrong?
