Default Got pulled this morning......

.......absolutely no reason.

Copper standing in the middle of the road, pulls me over. He then asks me to turn the bike off and remove my helmet and gloves. He then says, and I quote ?nothing to worry about, I?m just carrying out a stupid survey about motorbikes, tax and insurance?.

Two things:

? Why tell me it?s stupid? Don?t bloody do it if you think it is stupid! F?wit.
? Why are they only targeting bikes?

Held me up for at least ten minutes on the way to work this morning. I?ve been pulled over before like this, just because they are carrying out random checks. Complete pain in the ass. If they want to know if the bike is taxed and insured, all they have to do is a number plate check. They could ask my name to cross reference, and send me on my way 90 seconds later.

Annnnnd relax.

TBH, I don't think I'd mind being stopped under these circumstances. Too many uninsured road users about these days.

They stop bikes because their APNR kit isn't so good on bikes due to the lack of a front number plate. Would folks rather have a front number plate that be stopped?

Easy Scoobs, the guy is just empathising with you and trying to take the sting out of the hassle he has been instructed to lay upon you. He has to do it. They could do things automated but you get a lot more by speaking to people face to face,(well in some cases ) he may well be a biker so feels guilty about stopping you?
Think how bored the poor sod is having to do it.

He was probably apologetic as:-

1) He had been told to target bikers and would rather be nicking criminals
2) He would rather be in a nice warm canteen getting his bacon and eggs
3) He was to embarrassed to say he fancied you and could he have your number

Portchester on the main road through it. Keep your nose clean and you'll be ok.
