My pearly whites

I saw my dentist yesterday and to my horror, I have 2 cavities that'll need filling.

I've never had any work done to my teeth before so I'm very apprehensive about this.

I understand giving birth is more tolerable??

Just think yourself lucky it's not root canal!

My toothbrush was hairless,
I never had much time to spend.

Oh I showed them the toothpaste all right,
I flashed it about late at night,
But up-and-down brushin'
And pokin' and fussin'
Didn't seem worth the time... I could bite!

If I'd known I was paving the way,
To cavities, caps and decay,
The murder of fiIlin's
Injections and drillin's
I'd have thrown all me sherbet away.

So I lay in the old dentist's chair,
And I gaze up his nose in despair,
And his drill it do whine,
In these molars of mine,
"Two amalgum," he'll say, "for in there."

How I laughed at my Mother's false teeth,
As they foamed in the waters beneath,
But now comes the reckonin'
It's me they are beckonin'
Oh, I wish I'd looked after me teeth.

Very true. But I have always looked after my teeth.

I blame it on my genes.

Having given birth i`d say definitely not.... I`d far rather have the dental work will be fine hun, small local injection into gum which stings a bit but then you won`t feel anything.

PS: I forgot to tell you I had a caesarian under epidural lol

you will be fine. I never have injections for fillings (but then Im a roughy toughy jock biker) (who incidentally gave birth to a 9lb 6 baby with no pain relief) lol

and yes it is now like a bucket

I always find it realyl unpleasant, but not actually all that painful. Then again, I walked into casualty on a broken hip so perhaps I'm not the best judge But I still don't like it, the noise and vibrations into the head and wee bits of crap at the back of your throat, ugh. I had a tooth basically rebuilt from teh roots up last year and it's first class work but it was one of the least pleasant hours of my life.

But, it's still better than toothache.
