on way to work this morning, was just going round a corner and the bike just went down. not sure why, but i think the front brake might have seized. it was a bit stiff yesterday morning but was ok at the end of the day. anyhoo, the result of all this is that I've broke my thumb in 3 places. tis a bit sore. otherwise I'm ok and the bike looks like it'll just need a new brake lever and indcator (plus possibly getting the brakes looked at!)

Glad your ok mate! Your lucky it wasn't worse! How old is your bike because i wouldn't have thought breaks would seize on anything under 6 years old... Unless its just a build up of grime that has cause them to clamp onto the disks.

bikes a 99 curvy, so thats 9 years old. I'm not certain it was defo the brakes like. the bikes just been serviced a month ago so i'd have thought they should have been ok.

could be a build up of grime like, it is badly in need of a wash.

Sorry to hear about your off mate, at least it isn't to bad.
The good news is it doesn't take long for thumbs to heal, and a brake lever and indicator is a cheap repair (which can be repaired with a broken thumb by the way). |

Sorry to hear about that, at least everything that was broken can be repaired in a relatively short time! All the best.

bugger... thumbs get better quite quick, and bike should be cheap to fix. Good to hear your ok though.
