About four weeks ago i posted about how Derbyshire police were giving away free bike chains and locks plus garage alarm. Well i got mine tonight dropped off to the door, not bad for saying yes please and thankyou. The chain is about a meter long, enough for a ground anchor through back wheel. Lock is ok but would not be up to much punishment! Alarm is cheap and cheerful, but makes a very decent noise. enough to attract attention.

That's a great offer but,
if chains just make thieves move on to an easier target, how is this going to help the police' crime stats? And are they leaving themselves open to liability if the stuff is not up to much? that said, see if they'll deliver to me ![]() |

Its glossop police who are giving them out in my area of glossop. They are free and what more can i say. They are not of fantistic quality; but will do to stop the opportunist thief. the alarm which is for shed etc would attract attention. Dont look a gift horse in the mouth, springs to mind
