Default Speedo Dancing Around - Cleaning Front Loom Plug.

I have done a search and found plenty results for this problem but mine is slightly diffrent i know the solution.

On my bike the speedo needle dances around every so often bouncing off 120 when doing 20 miles per hour etc. I have traces the fault to being in the wireing loom behind the left fairing because when i give this a nudge the problem goes away for a while.

Can anyone advise can you get into this plug without taking off the front fairing?

it would be an idea to check the carbs too, if the bike in your avatar is the one you ride......reason being....
yesterday I got my black bike out of YC's garage and it was popping ant farting like hell, also the needle was bouncing about on the speedo.....YC traced it to a rubber pipe on the carbs you use to balance em, that had a little split in the end when it was reattached........the problem is now solved

This does sound electrical as suggested though. If you can waggle a wire/connector and it fixes it then its most certainly a loose connection or short somewhere close to the 'waggling'

You might find that the plug in question is either under the clock area or in fact under the tank at the back of teh radiator. You may just need to lift the front of the tank, possibly remove the airbox to get to it.

yes that's where I'd start, also check for loose battery connection.
