Default Body position, or how to make things really complicated.

Today I had a go at praticing the body postion on the bike, from what I got shown at Silverstone.

Can any give some pratical suggestions on how I can praticse this riding on the road, or should it left for the track only?

I find the bike works best with one foot on each peg, and one hand on each bar. I tend to leave my bum sat on the seat as I feel this makes the whole trip more comfortable.

HTH

Track only. Be careful or your impatience is going to get the better of you.

It can be done on road but as said by FS, leave it till track time mate. You've been riding 4 or so months havent you?

EDIT: My impatience to get knee down got the better of me in March last year, peeing it down with rain and I still tried on a roudabout hit a patch of diesel, deffo got me knee down aswell as the rest of me. Changed the sliders and went out and tried it end of summer ish and was successful even on NW2

Thats why I asked in the first place, I have no desire to hurt me or my bike.
However I thinking what can I praticse out here, that nothing more. I don't ever want to ride the road like a track. I' just wanting to improve.

Yep, no reason not to practice on the road. I think it is a good idea as you are not thinking massivly about apexes, braking points etc at the same time too ... You might look a bit of a tool hanging off like a gibbon at 30mph and the bike almost upright, but that doesn't matter does it!

What did the dude say?

He said sit back further I was too close to the tank, get me body over to the side I'm turining in this case he showed the right hand turn. Balls of the feet on the pegs, shift my butt over to the right and the rest of of the body so that I hang off the bike (does that male sense) relax my grip on the bars. Also showed me that its with the legs, that keep me on the bike not my hands. (it was at this point someone grabbed the bike, so I didn't fall over!)

Which was trying to in the last seesion with some sucess, couldn't quite get the feet postion sorted out, was having fun as I about take 3 bikes under the bridge, then we all know the rest

Incidently my leg has fully healed and was training this moring I gave the other guy a really hard kick just make sure everything was working

CBT May least year, Full licence August 31st Last year. For 2 months I was ill over the summer, othwerwise I would have passed sooner. So less than a year, having said I'm off out the bike now need some food (now I won't be doing this tesco and back)

Ok 8 months. I have been riding a year and 5 months nearly and covered +20k since passing test. I never did a CBT until I was gonna do me test, mainly for the fact that I didnt want to be branded as a scooter chav lol. Anyway my point being, I've done +20k and I still can't find a ruddy style I like and feel good with, I always feel ragged, maybe I am like Ruben Xaus but a lot of stones heavier and quite a lot slower lol.

Remember Christopher theres no subsitute for practice mate. Just do it wisely and carefully...Don't overdo it to, a tired body is like a ticking timebomb IMO.

My hunch would be that practicing body position on the road is fine. Practicing racing on the road is going to end in tears though. But simply looking at body position, sure you'll look a tit hanging off when you don't need to, but I can't see anything inherently unsafe in this.

I'm assuming you're not taking positioning to the extreme here by the way, but for body position only, what works on the track won't be (in my mind) unsafe on the road. Track velocities, lines, and safety margins though - as has been said already, without wanting to sound like your dad, we're all just being protective
