I HATE Budapest.
Yesterday, I dropped my bike twice. I've never dropped it before so it was a bit annoying. I couldn't lift it by myself so I had to wait for passing help...which came! My GPS turned ghey so it eouldn't find the place I was staying at. It took me 4 hours. I return to my bike this morning to find that all the locks have been smashed including the ignition & d-lock. My bike is going nowhere. I'm going nowhere. I'm really fed up. |

Chin up matey.
On the fed up and looking for where you should be I have been there and its really frustrating and gets you down, esepcially at end of a long day when you are tired. I have dropped the GS and not been able to pick it up a few times, you have those tired and frustrated days. I had to get some guy to put it on the centrestand at a service area once I was so knackered. It seems the damage is par for the course out that way in some spots. An american friend had similar damage two days running in Prague, so do take care and maybe not park bike in same spot if that was likely. Things will get better. Get the lock sorted and Go East, Young Man. Do you need anyone here to help source stuff? I can PM you numbers and emails, I can at least sit here googling up parts suppliers for you if you need. About as far as my adventuring goes ![]() So dont forget some of us are counting on you so we can carry on living vicariously ![]() |

So sorry, can imagine how down you must be feeling... I`m going to Budapest in June, is it a bit rough there then or is it certain areas?? would the bikes be unsafe?
Hope you get it sorted soon ![]() |

Dirk mate - its just KARMA telling you something. You gotta stay longer and enjoy that beautiful city. Go and have a look around the place - plenty of thermal pools to relax in, bars to hang out in and pretty girls to talk too. Take it easy dood.... go have some fun.

Gah, thats bad news.
Cheer up though mate - I went to get my summer gloves out this morning and found that someone had chewed a one inch square ventilation hole through the left one. The guilty party is in the middle: ![]() |
